Prism is a powerful software that relies on timely notifications to keep users informed about various events and tasks. However, sometimes users may encounter issues with receiving these crucial notifications. This guide provides a detailed, step-by-step approach to identifying and resolving notification problems in Prism.
1. Inspect Email Filters and Spam Folder:
- Check your email client's filters to ensure Prism notifications aren't being automatically sorted or hidden.
- Look in your spam or junk folder to see if notifications are being incorrectly flagged.
2. Verify Email Address:
- Double-check that your email address is correctly entered in your Prism profile.
- Ensure there are no typos or outdated information in your contact details.
3. Review Notification Settings - Are you configured to receive that notification?:
- Navigate to Admin > Roles
- Carefully examine your existing notification role.
- Check that the relevant module (e.g., Work Order, Inspection, PM Task) is properly enabled for your user role.
- Review the event notifications for each module to confirm they are checked and active.
4. Confirm User Assignment to Notification Roles:
- For custom roles, it's crucial to verify that users are correctly assigned. If you don't see your Role created, you can learn more about creating roles by clicking on Configuring Notifications. However, If you don't have the option to Create a Role, please contact your team's Prism account admin.
- Access the property information page and navigate to the Contacts tab.
- Ensure your user contact is added to the list of authorized recipients.
5. Check for Property-Level Overrides:
- Within My Properties, select the specific property for which you didn't receive a notification.
- Navigate to the Notifications tab for that property.
- Look for the option "Override default notification configuration from management company."
- If this option is enabled, review the property-specific settings carefully.
6. Address Unsubscribe Issues:
- If you have previously unsubscribed from Prism communications, this could be affecting your current notifications.
- In this case, reach out to the support team at prismsupport@buildingengines.com to request removal from the suppression list.
By systematically working through these steps, you can identify and resolve most notification issues within Prism. If problems persist after completing this troubleshooting process, it may be necessary to contact Prism's technical support for further assistance.
