This process allows you to turn on the Tenant Schedule option on a specific Issue Type, and allow tenants to be able to choose a date on when they want the work they are requesting to be done on.
You will have to turn it on as a Permission under Admin - Manage Permissions, and also toggle it on on the individual Issue Type under Admin - Issue Types
To turn on the permission:
- Go to Admin - Manage Permissions
- Scroll down to the Work Order section and find the "Can Schedule Work" option. Then scroll over to your Tenant permission groups and toggle it on at the group(s) you want
- To enable the Tenant Schedule option on the Issue Type:
- Go to Admin - Issue Types and select Account or Property level (this determines if you want to edit the issue types across the whole portfolio, or just at a single, specific property)
- Select the Issue type you want to edit, then under the Tenant Schedule field either select "Start Time" or "Start and End Time" (depending on how specific you want your tenants to be). Then click "Submit"
- Go to Admin - Issue Types and select Account or Property level (this determines if you want to edit the issue types across the whole portfolio, or just at a single, specific property)
FAQs:
Q: After enabling the Tenant Schedule feature, will tenants be required to select a date for their work requests?
A: No, the Tenant Schedule option remains optional for tenants even after you enable it. They can choose to specify their preferred service date or leave it blank for standard scheduling.
Q: Will enabling the Tenant Schedule option affect existing work orders or only apply to new requests?
A: The Tenant Schedule option only applies to new work order requests submitted after the feature is enabled. Existing work orders will maintain their current scheduling settings.
Q: If I enable this at the Account level, can I still disable it for specific properties that shouldn't offer this option?
A: Yes, property-level settings override account-level settings. If you enable Tenant Scheduling at the Account level, you can still selectively disable it for specific properties by adjusting the Issue Type settings at the Property level.
