In Prism, you have the capability to either pause or deactivate a Preventive Maintenance Schedule if you no longer want it to fire out.
The difference between Pausing and Deactivating a schedule primarily relates to their impact on future work orders and ease of reactivation:
Pausing a Schedule:
1. Temporarily stops new tasks from being generated
2. Keeps the schedule intact for easy reactivation
3. Does not affect historical data or existing tasks
Deactivating a Schedule:
1. Completely stops the generation of new tasks
2. Removes the schedule from active status
3. Requires more steps to reactivate if needed in the future
4. Preserves historical data but may impact reporting
Pausing is generally used for short-term, while deactivation is more suitable for long-term or permanent changes.
To Pause a Schedule:
Click the Preventive tab and navigate to the schedules feature.
Click the Schedule ID that you want to edit
Click the Pause button at the bottom of the page to pause the schedule
To Deactivate a Schedule:
Click the Schedule ID that you want to edit
Click the "Actions" button on the top right to Deactivate schedule.
If you would like to remove a Pause from a schedule, click into the schedule and click "Activate Schedule" in the bottom right of the schedule.
Please note: Removing a pause from a Schedule does not fire out the tasks that were missed when it was paused - it will only fire the tasks moving forward based on the schedule selected
Alternatively, you can select the check box next to. the schedule in the grid view and click on "Change Status" (this can also work for Pausing/Activating tasks in bulk as well)
