Creating Messages
1. Click the Communications tab and navigate to the Messages feature
2. Click the New Message button in the top right corner of the page.
3. Selection of required fields and optional (New Message Form)
a) Message Type:
i) Standard -
ii) Emergency -
b) Broadcast Message:
This will send
i) Email - User will get notification on email associated with the prism account.
ii) SMS - Send via text message
iii) Push Notification - send push notifications to mobile app users
iv) Bengie
c) Audiences:
i) Dynamic List - A dynamic list allow user to select specific properties and/or user types.
ii) Distribution List - A distribution list, user can manually select and add users from Prism to the list
d) Template (Optional):
User can select a Template for the message if user would like to resend a saved message.
Once user select a template, the information automatically populates in the fields.
e) Post to Dashboard: Option to post message to dashboard.
If enabled, select post type: General Notice or COVID Notice
f) Send Later: Schedule message for future delivery
4. Create a new message by entering a subject for the message. You can adjust who the message is from under the From field.
5. Enter your message in the box provided.
6. Click add file at the bottom of the page to upload an attachment to the message. This is optional.
7. When finished you can save the message as a draft, send the message, or view a preview of the message and send using the buttons on the bottom of the page.
