This guide will walk you through how to add reading definitions to existing Procedures in the Preventative module.
When a Procedure with a reading definition is attached to a Schedule, it generates PM Tasks that include the Readings definition as a question in the Task. This feature allows for more detailed and specific maintenance tasks.

Permission Requirements:

Please note: You can only add readings to existing procedures, not during the creation of a new one.
To Create a Reading Definition:
Go to the Readings module, click on the Definitions tab, and then click on "Create Definition"
Fill out the following fields:
For Data Type, you can select either Numeric (for entries such as temperature), or Status (on, off, standby, etc).
If you toggle on "Set Default Exception Range", that will allow you to set a minimum and maximum range in which you want action to be taken
Then click "Create Reading Definition.
To Add a Reading Definition to a Procedure:
Click on the Procedures Tab, and click into the Procedure you want to add the definitions to
Scroll down on the Procedure profile, and click on the Readings tab. There will be a "Add Reading Definition" option to select
In the next screen, click on the Readings dropdown to select the definition you just built out
Then select Apply Reading Definition. That will save the reading definition to the procedure.
