This guide outlines the process of cloning equipment in Prism's My Equipment module. This feature allows users to create duplicate entries of existing equipment, streamlining the process of adding multiple similar items to the system.
Cloning equipment saves time and ensures accurate data entry if there needs to be multiple entires of an equipment profile in the system
To Clone an Equipment Profile:
Click the My Equipment module and navigate to the Equipment tab.
Find the piece of equipment you would like to clone within the equipment grid. Click the ID # to open the equipment page
Within the equipment profile, click the Actions tab in the top right corner of the page.
Click the Clone Equipment option from the drop down.
Select a property and number of clones for the equipment. Under Include fields select any additional fields from the equipment's information page that you would like to copy.
Click the blue clone button to finish.
FAQ Troubleshooting:
Q: Can I edit a cloned equipment profile?
A: Yes, you can go into a cloned equipment profile and make any adjustments needed by following the steps in the following guide: Editing Equipment
Q: Will the tasks that are linked to an equipment be cloned as well?
A: If the cloned equipment is attached to an Asset Type that is linked to a Preventive schedule, then yes, the task will carry over to the cloned equipment. If your Preventive schedules are not using Asset Types to choose the equipment the task fires out on, then you will have to manually go into the schedule and add the new cloned equipment to it. You can do that by following this guide: Creating and Editing Preventive Schedules
